REVIEW: An organic wine that is fruit forward on the nose and juicy with aromas of Montmorency cherry, ripe field strawberry, raspberry, Jolly Rancher candy, plus truffle and hints of rubber band.
On the palate, it is medium bodied with silky tannins and sour cherry flavours, cranberry, as well a ripe strawberry with notes of cocoa, arugula, and espresso.
WINE-FOOD PAIRING: Tonight, I paired this wine with a charcuterie board that included dried sausage and cheddar cheese. For dessert, I had raspberry covered dark chocolate mousse. The wine paired well with both.
I would also pair this wine with spicy barbecued sausages or with barbecued pork chops in a berry sauce. For a vegetarian option, pair with barbecued Portobello mushrooms.
